Julie R. Davis
U.S. Veteran, Julie R. Davis, 76, of Robbinsville, NC, passed away on April 12th, 2017 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC, after an extended illness.
She was a loving mother and wife. She was born September 23, 1940, in Tijuana, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher William Davis. Fletcher and Julie were married in 1976 and shared a devoted bond.
Her journey from Mexico to the United States was fostered by a strong desire for the best possible life.
She raised three children with love and instilled in them a sense of good citizenship and integrity. She was extremely proud of them and their strong social impact in their professions of teaching, nursing and law enforcement. Julie was a homemaker and loved her husband, Fletcher, and created a warm adoring life together. Julie was an avid craft maker, seamstress, and enjoyed baking. She was passionate about animals and cared for many pets throughout her life.
She was also preceded in death by her son Mike Doyle Colvin.
She is survived by her daughter Coral Bridges and son-in-law Buck Bridges of Robbinsville; as well as her daughter Susie Powell and granddaughter Julia Caylee Powell of McDonough, GA; her grandson Joshua Allen Bridges and great grandchildren Ashlyn and Chase Bridges of Bryson City.
Services were held at Townson-Smith Funeral Home in Robbinsville, on April 18, with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. and then a memorial service at 7 p.m. officiated by Minster Darren Self. Committal services were April 19, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery on Massey Branch Road in Robbinsville.
