Joyce Ann Crisp Carringer, age 84 of Oak Ridge, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, after courageously battling cancer. 

She was born on July 28, 1936 in Yellow Creek, N.C. Joyce was a member of Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge for 50 years and a regular attender of Grace Baptist Church in Karns. She had a successful career with the Department of Energy for 39 years. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, David and Estella Crisp; brothers, Charles and Calvin Crisp; and sister, Nora Shope. 

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles Eugene “Gene” Carringer, Sr.; sons, Chuck Carringer and wife Emily, Kevin Carringer and wife Melissa, and Jeremy Carringer and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Zach Carringer and wife Kelly, Maggie, Kathryn, Blake, Kasen and Kamden; great-grandson, Jad; twin sister, Voyce Lovin; and sister, Polly Lovin. 

The family would like to thank her caregiver, Jennifer Carter, and hospice nurses Lana Vasilchuk and Bradley Quinley, who provided such wonderful care for Joyce. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial fund donations be made to Amedisys Hospice. Family and friends met at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for graveside services. Dr. Bobby Mullins officiated.
